An indigenous oregano variety that contains high levels of essential oils and boasts a wonderfully strong aroma and a slight peppery flavour. Apart from the classic Greek salad, it is great sprinkled over pizza, with lamb, chicken, pulses, anchovies, aubergines, in dressings and tomato-based pasta sauces.
